Brazos Market Gardening

About this almanac

Brazos Market Gardening is an almanac for people who grow vegetables in the river country of Central Texas, whether that means four raised beds behind the house or a half acre with a market table on Saturdays. The entries follow the year as it actually runs here: a long cool season that starts when the rest of the country is putting its gardens to bed, a hot stretch that tests every plant and every hose, and the short windows in between.

It covers soil, water, heat, seed, the crops that earn their space, and the practical side of selling what you grow, including the drive to market. Entries are written to be useful in the field. Each one stands on its own, and the planting band beside it on the front page shows the months it matters most.
